Matt Braaten
Rock/POP
Matt grew up in Minnesota and recorded his first album with the band Conic Section when he was still in high school. He fronted several Twin Cities bands as well as playing solo shows in Japan and Australia over the years. In Los Angeles, Matt recorded an album as part of the duo Blue Sky Divide and they played many LA area venues with the highlight of opening for the legendary Australian band The Church at The Coachhouse in San Juan Capistrano.
Matt wrote and recorded his first solo album, “Walk in the Sun”, in 2013 and launched it at the famous LA venue The Mint. The album was primarily recorded at Ballroom Studios where The Killers, Fleetwood Mac and many others have worked. The album includes guitar work by Jon Siebels (Eve 6) and Andrea Padilla, bass by Harry Ostrem, and drums by Eric Gardner (Morrissey, Tom Morello).
Matt has recorded with other artists on album and film projects and he is currently working on a new solo album. He continues to play live in several bands including Conjunction, The New Usuals, BSD and others. Matt is a member of BMI.
